City Of Scottsdale Announces Scottsdale Contemporary Month Activities

The City of Scottsdale has designated November as Scottsdale Contemporary Month, a time dedicated to honoring the local artists’ community with festivals, events and activities from October 21 through November 21 throughout the entire Scottsdale area.
“Scottsdale Contemporary Month recognizes the contemporary arts movement, from the 1970s to present day, with art-minded activities, art installations, festivals and events that signify the importance of our artistic community,” says Karen Churchard, Director of Tourism and Events for the City of Scottsdale. “We are proud that our city has such a vibrant art culture that continues to develop the love of art in so many formats.” Signature events taking place throughout Scottsdale Contemporary Month include:

5th Avenue in Scottsdale’s Gallery District
In its inaugural year, Scottsdale Public Art’s Local Light exhibit displays impressive light-based sculptures commissioned by local artists to enhance eight different sites throughout downtown Scottsdale, creating a path of art and light between the businesses and the canal. Camelback Studio Tour and Art Sale
Friday, November 2-Sunday, November 4
10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Sunday
The Camelback Studio Tour and Art Sale returns to the valley for its 10th anniversary featuring nine studio stops and representing 26 artists. Most of the stops are located between 54th and 60th street, and Oak Street and Thomas Road, with two stops just outside these cross streets. Attendees are welcome to start at any point on the “art trail” and make their way to each of the stops along this free, self-guided tour. For more:www.camelbackstudios.com

ArtFest of Scottsdale

The 25th Annual ArtFest features 120 artists selling paintings, sculptures, jewelry, metal art, ceramics, and glass art as well as authors and visual artists.
